Psychonauts 2 was first released on April 19th, 2005 by the Double Fine Productions game developer. It was a platform-based game published by Majesco Entertainment for Xbox, Windows, Mac OS X, and PlayStation 2. This game was a hit game in the gaming market and gained so much popularity then. 16 years later, Xbox game studios launched Psychonauts 2 which is developed by the same developer Double Fine Productions and was released on August 25, 2021.
The Psychonauts 2 came out for us after 16 years but it’s been a couple of days for Raz and his friends. The interesting thing is that this game picks up exactly where the Psychonauts left off. This second part maintained everything that made its predecessor so special despite its modern customization. These Psychonauts 2 game characters are so strange and lovable at the same time and fantastic mental worlds are hovering inside their heads. Psychonauts 2 has some solid improvements but along with changes, this game brought us that mid-2000s clunky flavor. In this game, we have to explore strange mental landscapes that reflect the character’s passions, obsessions, and past mistakes by going inside their minds. When you are inside of someone’s inner character you will see that city-sized obstacle course which is full of germs and bowling balls and when you are in others inside you will find waw raped combination of casino and hospital and so on.

Off the wall and sometimes gently disturbing which is Psychonauts style and this style’s name is psychedelic. This is something else it’s slightly off French. Which you have seen on TV once on a holiday. It’s like when the protagonist is chased by the witches. Which are made of bees or fight against a puppet that is vomiting. In this Psychonauts 2 game, all characters have crooked faces and abnormal proportions which look like nothing else.

You can see that each mindscape is wildly and wired imaginative. Like the previous game, this Psychonauts 2 new game has loosened the reins also by presenting multiple problems and paths. Which you have to make the decision. How to tackle them or solve them. Depending on the enemy you have to decide how your combat style will be. What your strategy will be to defend the enemy? This game has done a great job by expanding the role of enemies.
You will face while playing the Psychonauts 2 game. To win a battle you have to change your attacking strategies frequently. You can use your psychic power in the game. While frequently hover humping and sprinting but Levitation is not always accessible. You will have the ability to pause the time and can change tactical on the fly. These all things will become hard to use when multiple enemies will attack you at the same time. All the psychic abilities fun to use like -Telekinesis is made into a more practical combat tool.
Among all the superpowers the new addition is the Mental Connection ability. Which gives you the power to jump between points in the air. While platforming and tugging enemies toward you. while you are in combat. There is also an Archetype power that will create a paper version of Raz. Which will assist him in the battle and this is so cool to watch.

You can improve Raz’s ability and modify them further by spending Psitanium currency. You can upgrade your rank simply and satisfyingly. This will give you control to unlock extras like a dodge attack for your punches or PSI blast charge shots. Levitation ball color altering will help you to change your PSI blast from raw damage to a stunning effect. In this Psychonauts 2 game, you can equip three pins at a time. You will have to pay for pricey healing items and costly upgrades. You have to pay constantly for PSI Cores to increase the PSI rank. But for those who want to buy every single pin or dig out every last secret the door is left open for them. After completing the main story you will given the freedom to finish anything. It’s cool to watch the entertaining conversation with a few characters.
