FRANCHISES GAME -Generally, when a game becomes successful or when it has a story that you can continue over, it is only sensible to make another part to it. A continuation to the story sometimes adds more depth and excitement to the characters as well as the story. That is how game franchises are created.

Indeed, there are thousands of iconic and original game franchises that are over-the-top in popularity. It gives us the chance to experience the world of the story once more. Today, I have tried to list down some of the game franchises that I have tried and loved. Disclaimer, this is based solely on my opinion.

RESIDENT EVIL– FRANCHISES GAME

Resident Evil is a horror-adventure franchise that has been marking its name in the gaming society. Overall, it is also very popular.

At first, it was created by the Japanese company Capcom. As a matter of fact, the game is known as Biohazard in Japan. Over the years, the games went through developing with a lot of developers. In brief, the games that include in the series are first-person or even third-person survival horror. The first game went through release in 1996. The games that are in the series are Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil Code: Veronica, Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Resident Evil Village. 10 BEST HIGHEST-GROSSING – SELLING VIDEO GAME FRANCHISES

In brief, the games consist of gory, more disgust-driven horror, alongside separate backstories, and plots for different games. However, some of the games contain some returning iconic characters. In the earlier games, the antagonist was the Umbrella Corporation, who was manufacturing a virus as bioorganic weapons, turning humans into zombies. Many of the franchise entries follow Racoon City, a fictional Midwestern American city. To name a few, Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers and Chris Redfield are some of its popular characters.

The most recent game of the series came out in May 2021, Resident Evil Village. So far, Resident Evil can be played on almost all consoles and gaming devices.

THE ELDER SCROLLS

For my second pick is another Fan-favorite. The Elder Scrolls is an action-adventure game franchise.

Primarily, it went through developing and publishing with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. The series is known to have the most detailed, well-oriented games.

The first release of the series came in 1994 with The Elder Scrolls: Arena. Even though the series has plenty of spinoffs and expansions to several games, there are five main installments. To name a few, Oblivion and Skyrim are said to be the greatest games in the series. The most recent game of the series is The Elder Scrolls: Blades which went through release in 2020.

In brief, the games have developed a lot since their first release. The games can say as role-playing games, which take time with character development. In Skyrim, it gives you the chance to increase your character’s skillset as you advance through the story of the game. Also, the games are very long, so you won’t run out of things to do! Moreover, the flexibility of the games also helped its way to stardom as players could use their imagination with mods. The game offers you the chance to take on the world and characters and make them your own.

Moreover, fantasy can say as the theme of the game. Fighting monsters, exploring worlds and so much more. It gives you a lot to do in a more medieval setting.

So far, the games are available to play on MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows, Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, IOS, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, J2ME.  

MORTAL KOMBAT

Another iconic franchise for this list is Mortal Kombat. It is an American media franchise developing with Midway Games, firstly in 1992. Instead of a Science-based action franchise, Ed Boon and John Tobias had something else in mind.

In general, Mortal Combat is a very broad franchise with hundreds of characters involved. Over time, it has also had many sequels and spinoffs with respect to its original base material. Apart from videogames, the franchise has also made its way to film and comics. The series has a reputation for being gory and ruthless when it comes to fight sequences. Its special fatality moves generally end with a very graphic feat. [ FRANCHISES GAME ]

The games take place in a fictional universe with 18 realms and each of them has their own backstory. In brief, the game has a lot of backstory and supernatural logic that would take days to uncover and know completely. Some of the most famous characters from the games would be Scorpion, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Tanya, Sheeva, Kano and many more.

Moreover, a movie with the same name came out in 2021. The game is available to play on almost all consoles including Gameboy, Wii, IBM, and so on.

CRASH BANDICOOT

Personally, if I had to name one game franchise that I loved to play as a kid, this one would be it.

Crash Bandicoot is a videogame franchise which originally went through development with Naughty Dog. The series consists of mainly platform games and kart racing spinoffs. Currently, the game own by Activision. It’s the best FRANCHISES GAME ever.

Generally, Crash Bandicoot first made its appearance back in 1996. So far, the games radiate a fun, fast-paced and challenging vibe. From game to game, the genres of the environments bend.

Mainly, the game follows the character Crash the Bandicoot. It is mostly places on the fictional Wumpa Islands, where humans and mutant animals coexist. The main villain of the games is an evil mastermind dr. Neo-Cortex, who create Crash and now plans to kill him as he was a failed experiment.

It’s the best FRANCHISES GAME ever. Generally, players must guide Crash into defeating Cortex in his plans for world domination. Moreover, Crash has a very fun and mock personality and funky appearance. There are features like crates and mangoes which players must collect.

The latest game of the series Crash Bandicoot: On the Run is for mobile phones.  The games are also available to play on the PlayStations, all the Xbox and Nintendo DS, and Switch. 

GOD OF WAR

Perhaps one of the most sought-for picks on the lost is God of War. It is originally for the PlayStation 2 and later, it became a very useful name for the console. It first went through releasing and appearing in 2005 on the game God of War. 

Moreover, the games have its basing on Greek Mythology. Its main character is Kratos, who is a Spartan Warrior and later in the games the god of war. In the story, he was a victim of killing his family by trickery by Ares, who is his former master and the original god of war. This starts off the saga of multiple wars. It’s the best FRANCHISES GAME ever. The games are divided into two parts, Greek mythology, and Norse mythology era.

The Greek mythology era follows him on a path to gaining vengeance with the resistance of Olympian Gods. The Norse mythology era shows an older Kratos on a path to redemption alongside his son Atreus. Later, it brings him into conflict with other Norse Gods. Generally, Kratos is a fan-favorite character for his wisdom and tough appearance, and attitude.

The games are available to play on all the PlayStations and Windows. The latest game is to be releasing in 2022, God of War Ragnarök. 

CONCLUSION

To conclude, I have tried to pick out the best experiences that I had, even though all these franchises are very popular. As honorable mentions, Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Far Cry, Tekken, Super Mario Bros., and so forth are mentionable. Which is your favorite pick from this list?
