The critically acclaimed God of War Ragnarök (2018) sequel comes from Santa Monica Studios. Kratos and Atrius must travel to each of the nine kingdoms in search of answers.
As they prepare for the war that is predicted to end the world. God of War Ragnarok is going to PS5 and PS4 in 2022 and we finally saw some gameplay footage and got the official title thanks to PlayStation Showcase. God of War Ragnarok is set to release on PS5 and PS4 in 2022. After delays from its initial 2021 release window.

If you call yourself a gamer or if you are a frequent player of PlayStation games. Then you are perhaps no less familiar with the iconic adventure-action game series God of War. If you are not then you should check and re-evaluate your status as a gamer once more. Created by David Jaffe at Sony’s Santa Monica Studio, the first game of the series titled God of War was released in the year 2005, March 22. The incredible storyline, amazing graphics, and awesome battles only served to flame the fame of the game. As the franchise got bigger and the years went by, its success was not diminished but rather increased.
The latest game of the franchise was announced on September 16, 2020, titled ‘God of War Ragnarök’. Which is the fifth major game of the series excluding all the remastered games and mobile versions. It is scheduled to release in the year 2022 for PS4 and PS5. For those who
were disappointed. The 2018 installment would be the last time they ever went on an epic journey with Kratos. This announcement from Cory Barlog who is one of the game developers of the Santa Monica Studios gave them hope. Hope for continuing their adventure with Kratos once more.
The storyline follows the adventures of Kratos in the world. The Norse Gods but this time there is one more character to play and it is his son Atreus.
Though at first, it was not explicitly said. There will another installment of this game. It was a hint at the ending of the previous installment as a vision. This shows that Kratos and his son will ultimately find themselves face to face in confrontation with the Norse God of thunder, the mighty Thor himself.

God of War Ragnarök Teaser
A teaser was released in the year 2019 in April. Which was nothing but just a dynamic background theme for PlayStation 4. In the theme, we can see Kratos and Atreus aboard a boat. There are runes on the side of the boat. Which when translated stands for “Ragnarök coming.” Talk about easter eggs.
In the early stages of development, God of War Ragnarök was only speculated as a PS5 exclusive. in June 2021 it was announced for both PS4 and PS5 and will be available for cross-generation playing. We could probably see an early release of the game but due to pandemics. The release of God of War Ragnarök was delayed as not to rush into it and ensure the high quality of the game.
If you are a little unfamiliar with the Norse Mythology then, Ragnarök is an Old Norse word. That means doom of the Gods. It is an event where the Gods and the brave warriors of Valhalla. The Einherjar fight against the forces of the Frost Giant and the God of Mischief Loki and his children for their survival only for the nine realms to be destroyed and everyone to die.

But, Kratos and his son Atreus delve on an epic journey to find answers to their questions, making allies, and fighting enemies all over the Nine Realms. Along the way, we will be able to explore the beautiful rendition of the nine realms. We will develop new abilities and powers and skills. Kratos will up against new malevolent enemies like never before.
Right now, all we can do is just eagerly wait for the release of the game and hope. So, the developers did a great job in the making of the game and do not let us down.
